This time we will dive into Shannon College of Hotel Management and their invention for Dimension 1, Future Brand: In ToTo Lyfe.
In ToTo Lyfe is a Luxury Serviced Apartment brand that aims to not only serve the needs of our clientele but the needs of our planet and the future generations of this earth. Our brand is inspired by the promising concepts of the ‘biosphere 2’ and ‘Eden Project’ that are known for their structures that propagate produce indoors successfully, (Ryan, 2018). In the year 2050 it is predicted that 68% of the world’s population will live in urban areas, which indicates that the way people live in their homes will need to change (Nations, 2018). Cities will continually buzz with activity and there will be no time for residents to rest and recharge. Our aim is to give residents a place to detach from the world outside while doing the best for the environment with the inclusion of everything urban, that is why we branded ourselves ‘In ToTo,’ meaning ‘as a total, whole,’ (Cambridge Univerisity Press, 2020). This is a definition we aim to achieve.
In ToTo Lyfe strives to provide our clients with a high standard of living where they can enjoy their leisure time when returning from work; all the while knowing they are playing their part in living a sustainable urban lifestyle, in 2019 a survey conducted by Southern Cross University saw that 77% of their participants wanted to learn more about living a sustainable lifestyle (Southern Cross University, 2019). Hence, furthering the ability of individuals to reach their happiest and healthiest selves. We aim to create a community of inclusivity and progress through the use of the latest technology in robotics, agriculture, sustainability, and health sciences. We believe we can establish a brand that affords everyone an equal opportunity to be their best selves and do what is best for the Earth they inhabit.
Our brand’s mission is to do our best for all: the client, the community, and the environment. This means we look to improve on ways in which we can live our lives to the fullest, all the while being able to give back to the community, sustain and improve the earth for future generations. How we do this includes, for example, having onsite vertical farming that provides both for the residents as well as local charities. Furthermore, ensuring the carbon neutrality and full energy independence of the properties is integral to that mission.
At In ToTo Lyfe, we care about making sure that everyone's societal impact matters. Should our brand have the ability to improve on aspects of the community and social life they are involved in, we will. This includes the environmental responsibility of our properties and residents. We want to make sure no one is left behind in the fight against climate change, this means we make our properties accessible to all disabilities while having accessibility features blended into everyday living. The world is ever changing, and we know that the world will be different from the one we knew both today and yesterday. With that in mind, In ToTo Lyfe pledges to ensure the innovation of our properties and to ensure continuous education in sustainability practices with our staff and residents, which goes hand-in-hand with the ethos of our brand.
With the In ToTo Lyfe brand concept we see an extensive list of benefits to our clients and the environment. We hope to improve the lifestyle of our residents by providing them with a healthy living space while removing the mundanity of everyday responsibilities, giving them more time and room to explore their interests and hobbies. We want a sense of community that apartments do not tend to provide, with extra recreational space we hope to give residents opportunities to interact and share their experience with others as often urban living can be isolating for individuals.
In today’s world there are amazing innovative projects looking to improve the world ahead of us. In ToTo Lyfe sees this and can see a future where all these amazing concepts can work together to provide the most luxurious eco-friendly serviced apartments on the market. We will improve, adapt to, and build on all the wonderful technologies and opportunities to develop a brand that will make people’s lives better in the present and the future.
